Local Member Clubs

Local specialty clubs exist within each Division. However, they are not administratively a part of BCA. These local member clubs conduct events within their territory. Shows, matches and companion events are approved by BCA and the AKC. Other events such as educational programs, and rescue activities do not require BCA or AKC approval. BCA maintains a working relationship with a separate non-profit affiliated organization, the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network, to coordinate breed rescue activities throughout the US.

Each local member club elects its own officers, determines its own rules and is not run by BCA. They can provide local information to people in the area and are a good supplemental source of information about the breed and any questions you may have after you have reviewed the information BCA provides. Joining a local member club makes you a member of that club, but not a member of BCA. To become a member of BCA,  Click Join BCA.

Local member clubs may become members of the Bulldog Club of America, just as any individual may. They have to be recognized by the AKC and apply to their Division for membership. They have the same voting rights as an individual member - one vote on any issue on which members may vote. However, each local member club may nominate a person for each Division office, if they choose to.
