I am always looking for ways to educate the public on why it is important to buy from a reputable preservation breeder. I recently had my first litter in about 7 years since my divorce.

I have been using photos and videos to educate the friends on my Facebook page who are not "dog show" people. I want to show them what "We" do that is different in raising our puppies. I want them to have something to compare to when they are buying a puppy.

I think ALL of us as breeders sharing our litter stories and what we put into raising the puppies can make an impact on what they look for from a breeder. I have received many private messages from people in regards to this and they had no idea the time and effort involved.

Some other issues take some practice and study to pick up on. But I believe this mantra is often taken way out of context.     Recent results from research funded by the AKC Canine Health Foundation have the potential to significantly impact recommendations for spaying and neutering dogs in the United States. Most dogs in the United States are spayed or neutered, and for years the procedures have been completed prior to maturity. The study, published in the prominent, open access journal PLOS One, suggests that veterinarians should be more cautious about the age at which they spay and neuter in order to protect the overall health of dogs.
