Jiggs II was the second of many #bulldogs to serve as a mascot of the @marines . Born on September 22, 1925, he was named “Silent White Richard” and was almost entirely white with brindle markings. Jiggs II served as mascot for ten years and, after death on March 30, 1937, was buried with full military honors.

Jiggs II was donated to the #marinecorps by his owner, Gene Tunney, a veteran of the Marine Corps who served during World War I.

To Gene and all veterans, we honor you today.
