On This Day In 1835

Bull baiting was permanently outlawed by an Act of Parliament in England and most of northern Europe, with the passage of the Cruelty to Animals Act. The end of bull baiting left the #Bulldog without its primary purpose, leading to efforts to develop a more companionable dog.
The #bulldogclubofamerica celebrates our history and is honored to support a healthy future for this incredible breed.
