The Bulldog standard, largely unchanged since its adoption in 1896, highlights the breed’s “great stability, vigor, and strength.” These qualities make the Bulldog an ideal, if slightly unexpected, candidate for a variety of performance activities, such as rally, scent work, and even parkour. Dog sports are not only a great way to keep your Bulldog healthy and engaged but also to promote a deeper partnership with your Bulldog.

Demonstrating the breed’s versatility is 2023 Versatile Bulldog Bronze awardee CH-PKD Rosie the English Bulldog RN CGC TKE VHMA VSWE FITG. She was the third Bulldog to become a Champion Parkour Dog through the International Dog Parkour Association. She was also the sixth Bulldog to achieve Trick Dog Elite Performer with the American Kennel Club.
