New Mentor Programs
The Bulldog Club of America Judge Education Committee has been working to better define and clarify the Approved Mentor Program within the BCA, and many of you have likely seen emails outlining those updates.
This is an opt-in program and is meant to be inclusive, but it’s important to understand what taking on the role of “mentor” really means. It goes well beyond simply signing off for someone pursuing approval. Being a mentor requires a genuine investment of time, attention, and a willingness to guide others through the process. Mentor packets are currently being developed to help support that effort and provide clearer structure.
At the same time, the Education and Performance Committees have teamed up to create a second mentoring opportunity focused on general education.
If you’re interested in sharing your experience in areas like breeding, working with new exhibitors, performance events, and/or juniors, this program may be a great fit. Only you can really assess your own level of expertise, but we know there are many within the BCA community who have a great deal to offer.
We regularly hear from people who are just starting their journey with Bulldogs and are looking for guidance. This program is designed to help connect those individuals with mentors who are willing to share their knowledge, help build a strong foundation, and hopefully encourage continued involvement in the BCA.
