In keeping with the Bulldog Club of America’s role as the AKC parent club, the BCA encourages and values participation not only in AKC Conformation shows, but also in AKC’s many Performance events and Family/Civic activities.

Watch Rudy The Bulldog Crush The 2019 WKC Masters Agility Course

February 14, 2019
No one expected this from a bulldog.
Von Rudolph Augustus Perkins, or "Rudy" for short, stole all of our hearts at the 2019 Westminster Kennel Club Masters Agility Championship.  Owned, Trained and Loved by Debbie Perkins.

PERFORMANCE

For BCA’s purposes, Performance sports are the judged events of Obedience, Tracking, Agility, Rally, Coursing Ability, FAST CAT, Scent Work, Barn Hunt, Dock Diving and Flyball.  Bulldogs have been successful in all of them.

CIVIC ACTIVITIES

In addition to Performance sports, are Family Dog and other canine programs primarily centered on dogs exhibiting good manners and socialization skills, showing off tricks/stunts, and contributing to the well-being of the community and its enjoyment of dogs.  BCA refers to these as Civic Activities.  They include Canine Good Citizen, Farm Dog Certification, Therapy Dog visits, Temperament Testing, Trick Dog, Stunt Dog and Search & Rescue (Urban & Wilderness).

TITLES

AKC tracks and records dogs’ title progression and automatically issues title certificates for the Performance sports of Obedience, Tracking, Agility, Rally, Coursing Ability, FAST CAT and Scent Work.  AKC trials/tests for these sports are hosted by AKC clubs and judged by AKC judges.  For the other three sports as well as all seven of the Civic Activities listed above, AKC does not automatically record and issue title certificates.  Dogs that pass the tests/evaluations and meet the specified criteria in these sports & activities will only be issued AKC title certificates through AKC’s Title Recognition Program which requires owners to submit an application with documentation of passing and a processing fee ($20-$25) for each title.
